Dating Tips
Firstly - be yourself and try to relax
Ask your date open questions
Asking open questions is important to find out about the other person. For example, you can use words such as what, where and how, these words cannot lead to a simple yes or no answer which gives the other person an opportunity to give a better answer and can give that individual time to think.
Reality Checks
Before you judge the other person be aware that your own beliefs and values are based within you, this does not mean that your own beliefs are right or wrong. We are all different and your date's beliefs and values may not always match yours. Knowing and understanding this will make you more flexible and understanding of others, friends and especially the women/man your are meeting.
Do Not Assume
Do not assume anything – just ask – its better to ask than just guess! As you could be assuming wrong of that person. If he or she does not respond to you straight away it does not mean that they are not interested, they could be very shy, or need to get to know you better before they demonstrate any kind of interest.
Build Rapport With Your Date
Rapport is the most special communication you could have with that person, trust, harmony and co-operation. If you have a rapport with a person you will make them feel comfortable, rapport – a good word – which can be in their laugh, language, looks, gestures, and facial expressions, just enjoy being out with people experiencing a new zest for life.
Be Confident
It is not easy to be confident – but as you know confidence can open many doors. When you are confident, people will have more trust in you and your abilities, even if you do not feel confident – act as if you are!
First Date
When you have made a date to meet, firstly make the meeting somewhere that is know to both of you like a Wine Bar or Pub, where there are other people. Do not meet in a car park as you certainly do not want to put yourself at risk.
We want you to have fun meeting people and enjoy yourself - not to have a bad experience - always keep this at the back of your mind.
